This study aims to test a Russian version of the Big Five Inventory (BFI; John et al., 1991, 2008) using a sampe of Russian adolescents. To this purpose a focus-group was performed. Prior to the data gathering, one item had been modified given a teenager focus group discussion. Internal consistency of the BFI subscales was acceptable . Extraversion measured with BFI correlated positively with extraversion measured with Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI). Neuroticism measured with BFI similarly correlated with Neuroticism measured with EPI. These results provide evidence of convergent validity of the Russian BFI. The factor structure of its subscales was consistent with the Stability/Plasticity model (DeYoung et al., 2002). The BFI subscales explained 61 % of variance. These findings further support construct validity of the Russian BFI.
Key words: personality traits; Big Five; adolescents; stability/plasticity.
